Tank and Tankless Water Heaters
Tank Water Heaters
Natural or Propane Gas Tank Water Heaters
provide a large volume of dependable, low-cost hot water. They are the
most common way to heat water in the United States. They heat water
approximately twice as fast as electric water heaters, so you have a
much faster recovery time and you won't have to wait for hot water
when several people use the shower. Residential tank water heaters
typically store between 20 and 80 gallons of hot water, usually at the
factory setting of 120°F. The temperature can be adjusted up or down
by a control on the unit. Tank water heaters are typically located in
the garage, basement or attic. Replacing a tank water heater with
another tank water heater is fast and keeps labor costs to a minimum.
Current gas hot water heaters contain special flammable vapor ignition resistant (FVIR) technology that prevents the ignition of flammable vapors, such as spilled gasoline, outside the unit. All gas hot water heaters sold since July 1, 2003, must have this FVIR technology. (See adjacent information.)
The Ultra Low NOx water heaters also include the Guardian Flammable Vapor Ignition Resistance (FVIR) System. First unveiled by Rheem in 2003, the proprietary Guardian System incorporates an exclusive air and fuel shutoff mechanism that shuts the water heater down quickly and safely should vapors ignite within the combustion chamber. In addition, the Rheem Guardian System is maintenance-free, with no filters to clean--ever.
Tankless Water Heaters
Tankless water heaters are today's
most popular "green" hot water solution. You will not run
out of hot water with a properly sized tankless water heating system.
Tankless gas water heaters are more energy-efficient than conventional tank heaters, because they eliminate the need to maintain a large supply of pre-heated water. Tankless units provide hot water on demand at a precise temperature needed, so there is no storage and therefore no need to expend energy heating that stored water.
About the size of a medicine cabinet, tankless water heaters can easily be wall-mounted indoors and even outdoors, depending on the climate.
Tankless water heaters have convenient digital wall-mounted controls and even waterproof remote controls that make it easy for you to adjust the temperature as often as you wish for convenience as well as safety.
Why Tankless vs. a Traditional Tank?
They produce more hot water using less energy than the most
efficient storage tank style heater.
They are the
environmentally responsible water heating solution.
They save
energy, space and money.
They provide an endless supply of hot
water on demand.
Tankless water heaters are about the size of a
carry-on suitcase as opposed to a traditional tank water heater that
can take up to 16 square feet of valuable floor space in your
home.
Lower your energy bills- you can enjoy up to a 40%
savings with a Rinnai tankless water heater.
Rinnai has earned
ENERGY STAR approval by meeting the strict energy efficiency
guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the
Department of Energy, by using less energy and preventing greenhouse
gas emissions.
Tankless water heaters do not build up rust and
scale inside a tank so you will always experience fresh, clean water
that is heated on demand.
Rinnai tankless water heaters have a
typical life of up to 20 years- twice as long as a tank style unit.
When you choose a tankless water heater installed by All American Gas Services, you benefit from endless hot water, up to a 40 percent savings in energy costs, and the space-saving advantages of this type of unit. Tankless water heaters are considered “green” because they are energy efficient.
